Master of Myo Fascial Massage Release
I had 6 visits with Carlos. He is a quiet humble man who never hurt me while working on me. I was injured in a car accident, my left leg received a air bag burn. I had bruised very badly. Carlos noticed immediately my knee was in a upward position. By the time I left his office my foot could touch the floor. With my injury he indicated there was no protocol. He had to work around my wound and my muscle that had atrophied. I'm so greatful to Carlos for helping me, I can finally begin physical therapy to begin walking.
What a great experience. Carlos came highly recommended by a person who's opinion I greatly respect and I have not been disappointed. He is a wonder message therapist who is truly interested in getting to the heart of your problem and helping you to recover. He listens well to everything you say and gives helpful suggestions for your continued well being. I would certainly recommend him highly to anyone.
Laura has the ability to relate to the body like no other massage therapist I have met. She is excellent at healing pain and even guides you through exercises that you might need for your specific issue. Massages are first rate. Highly recommended.
I have only been to Myo Pain Center for two sessions but I would have to say that so far my experience has been very positive. Carlos is not only extremely skilled at his work but is very easy to talk with as well. I will definitely pass the word along about Myo to all my friends and family. I look forward to the remaining sessions with anticipation in the hope that my physical pain and symptoms will be greatly alleviated. Thanks Myo and Carlos.
Gave me my life back!
I woke up one morning with shoulder pain back in February of 2014 and by June of 20I woke up one morning with shoulder pain back in February of 2014 and by June of the same year I had deep muscle ache throughout my entire body. I went to a number of doctors including neurologists, rheumatologists, orthopedic surgeons, physiatrist not to mention several months of physical therapy. I went from being an active, in shape, 37 year old woman, to not being able to do any physical activity. I had lost all faith in the medical community and fell into a state of depression; all I wanted was my life back and nothing was working. I started doing my own research and learned about trigger point pain which lead me to finding Carlos and MYO Pain Center OC. Carlos has impacted my life in a profound way. He understood exactly what was happening to my body, was able to find my pain by touch, and alleviate it by 95% in a short period of time. We continue to work on my upper body to remove some residual pain and I improve more and more following each visit. I’m finally hopeful I can make a full recovery and regain the active lifestyle I loved so much. Carlos is a healer, not only by making a connection with the body and alleviating pain but by restoring hope in your heart. Carlos has helped me explore contributing factors I hadn’t thought about and guided me to practices that I can incorporate into my life. Carlos gave me my life back and I couldn’t recommend him enough.
Significant pain relief and increased range of motion
I started seeing Carlos and Laura about a year ago. I try to go once a week. Almost a year and a half ago I was involved in a severe accident in which I broke 28 bones including my neck, both legs, shattered my pelvis, and completely broke my humerus off of the humeral head. I was bed ridden for 8 weeks and extremely limited in motion for the next several months. I also wore a halo for my neck in which I was unable to move or turn my head or neck for 3 months. Needless to say, I suffered from severe muscle atrophy, scar tissue build up, all over pain, and muscle tightening from lack of use. Soft tissue therapy with Carlos and Laura has been a life saver. At times it was incredibly painful as they tired to break through scar tissue and connective tissue. But in the long run, my range of motion has improved dramatically with massage therapy in tandem with physical therapy to gain my muscle strength back. There is no way physical therapy alone would have gotten me as far as I am now. The soft tissue work was integral to gaining back range of motion and easing pain over time. Both Carlos and Laura are highly qualified and educated in anatomy and kinesiology and I trust them completely. I highly recommend Myo Pain clinic for anyone who needs therapeutic massages.
I have had the oppurtunity to have frequent massage and bodywork over the past twenty years. Carlos is really special! He is an expert on how the body works and really connects with his client. I had consistent low back pain that Carlos really helped me with, and I really felt cared for in his presence. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an amazing bodyworker and a true healer.
Carlos is a miracle worker!
I have been a client of Carlos's for several years now, due to a neurological condition which causes me pain and stiffness. After my weekly treatment, I feel like a new person! I am relaxed and have greater freedom of movement. His kind and gentle manner only adds to the experience. This is one of the highlights of my week!
I am better!
I have been seeing Carlos for relief of back pain due to a fractured vertebrae, X rays showed the fracture to be healed, but he muscles and nerves around the area were still very painful,. After the third visit I noticed a lot of improvement. I had been using a cane and a walker to get around, and now can move on my own. I have more confidence in myself due to the encouragement and help from Carlos. I plan to continue treatment until I am fully back to my old strength. I feel confident that this will happen.
Carlos has truly changed my life, not just within the always pain relieving sessions, but by giving me the tools and knowledge to treat my Myofascial pain at home or on the go. For years I've tried so many different ways to manage my pain with little success, but trigger point therapy, and Carlos' intuitive, and effective approach has made a huge impact on my life and the ability to do the things I'd given up on! My grateful thanks to you, Carlos.
Carlos is a miracle worker!
I have suffered from periodic severe lower back pain and stiffness since my mid 20's. over the past 40 years, I have tried everything form medications, orthopedics, chiropractors, physical therapy and so on. No one has helped me as much as Carlos with his Trigger Point Therapy. Go to Carlos. You will not regret it. Nancy N.
What an amazing experience!
About two years ago, I was referred to Carlos by my oral surgeon. I was in such pain in my neck and shoulders that it was almost incapacitating. Carlos, with his gifted hands, took care of the problem. Only those who have felt such pain, and then such relief, could appreciate the miracle. Last week, I returned to see Carlos - this time with an excruciating pain in my hip. I was afraid it was my sciatic nerve. He assured me it wasn't, and then, after my session with him, I was once again pain-free. Carlos is truly amazing, and I am so happy to have this opportunity to praise his skill - AND his encouraging, peaceful, and nonjudgmental personality.
It is always a great experience
Carlos is incredible at finding the source of the pain and working on releasing the muscles and knots to give me relief. He is very professional and his space is very comfortable and relaxing. I suggest anyone with back pain give him a try.
Carlos cured my back pain.
My success story. Carlos cured my back pain. About eight months ago I developed sudden and severe pain in both buttocks, more on the left side, going down both thighs halfway to the knees. There was no identifiable episode of injury, but I had been working out heavily for several years with a trainer. The pain was sharp and intense, and I had to stop all exercise. Many routine activities were also affected. I could not carry and objects over 10 pounds. I had pain getting into or out of my car, standing up and sitting down, going up and down stairs, twisting, bending, and especially with coughing. If I opened my mouth to yawn I would have pain in my lower back. Even defecation was painful. The pain persisted and did not improve for four months. During that time I tried massage, physical therapy, chiropractic, and vigorous stretching. Stretching actually increased the pain. Heat, especially a hot shower, offered temporary relief. I finally had an MRI study of the spine. This revealed a large, 6 mm ruptured disc between the second and third lumbar vertebrae. I began to look into surgical options, since the pain had become chronic and was not improving. I was aware, however, that surgery for low back pain is often ineffective. Finally, on the recommendation of a patient, who did not know I had back pain, I went to see Carlos. He identified some trigger points in my legs, back and buttocks, and started to treat me using myofascial techniques. Some of the trigger points were exquisitely sensitive, and it was revealing to learn that trigger point pain is often a referred pain, manifesting in a different location from where the true problem is. Carlos also identified problems with my daily activities that aggravated my condition, such as my choice of chairs at work, my sleeping position, and how I sat in my car. I followed his suggestions for change, and gradually began some trigger point activities at home using a rubber ball. By my third visit I began to feel better. By my sixth visit the pain was almost gone. I was amazed, believing that the ruptured disc was my problem. Obviously the disc was only incidental. I now have no pain at all, and have resumed swimming, many stretches, and light weights. I can go up and down stairs, carry 40-50 pounds, dance, and hike without pain. My improvement was magical, since I had decided that the pain was not going to go away. In my subsequent reading and patient experience, I have learned that many people suffer with chronic and intractable pain, improperly diagnosed and ineffectively treated, of myofascial origin. I have since seen many patients improved with Carlos’ therapy, and am a true believer in his techniques. Allan Sosin MD
Carlos is a pure body genius
Carlos is pure body genius. I have been going to Carlos for about ten years at the recommendation of my physical therapist for continued work on my back. Over the years he has consistently helped me through numerous episodes of back spasm. I have always come from his office feeling better and diminished pain. He is the only person I trust to touch my back - and he is always able to dial in on the source of the problem, and address it with the proper pressures and technique. I cannot say enough good things about Carlos' care. He has also helped me on other sources of body pain in various areas, and I definitely feel better with his care. He knows the body and is able to diagnose the source of pain. On top of that he is always professional, reliable and encouraging - as the pain often has mental and emotional impact.
Carlos Messerschmidt, Myofacia Trigger Point Massage Therapy
I started treatments with Carlos almost a year ago. I had tried many therapies over many years for my severe scoliosis back pain. My spine has a 60-degree curve and I was in constant pain. All my doctors could do for me for temporary pain relief was a combination of very strong pain pills and cortisone injections. I could not sit, stand, walk or sleep in any one position over 15 minutes. The only long-term "possible" solution for 30% pain relief was risky back surgery to re-build my entire spine (according to all my traditional doctors). After just 2 treatments with Carlos,I was experiencing long periods of pain relief. I now have very little pain during my entire day. I resumed driving and exercising and my energy returned. I am no longer on any pain meds and have discontinued my cortisone injections. I am pain-free most of the time. I got my life back and there is no surgery in my future. Thank you, Carlos!
kind and gifted therapist
I came to Carlos with my 2nd week long back spasm following open heart surgery recovery. I wad desperate for an alternative to muscle relaxants and pain killers, which largely did not work. I was afraid for anybody to touch my muscles and fascia, as I was in agonizing pain. Carlos provided comfortable relief in my first hour, and with subsequent follow up treatments, I was able to heal properly. I have continued to see Carlos on and off in the last 3 years, and he is always able to find and release my occasional knotted up neck and tense back muscles, and recently a jaw problem related to a dental problem I am having. He is gifted in knowing how to release muscles and fascia, and ease pain. He is kind, and helpful in giving you homework, if needed and requested. I don't know how I would have properly healed without him. He helped me understand how trigger point therapy can help maintain a healthy body. (And I don't know if it is related, but my immunity is better than my family member's immunity!)
Carlos an amazing healer
I have been seeing Carlos for approximately 2 years, and It has been a wonderful experience and time for healing. His compassion and generosity is continual in working to improve the quality of my life in managing whatever pain or distress my being is experiencing. He has made a huge difference in my well being. Many times my pain level is a 10 and I can leave in mush less pain, knowing it will improve throughout the day or evening.
Carlos Healed Me With Trigger Point Therapy
I suffered from disabling pain in my lower back for many years. The pain came periodically and increased in frequency until it came every month and was ruining my life. I was treated by chiropractors and by family doctors who prescribed muscle relaxing drugs. One night I went to the after hours medical office with the severe lower back pain. The doctor said she could give me a prescription for muscle relaxers but advised me to find someone who could treat me for trigger point pain.instead. I searched online and found Carlos at Myo Pain Center. Carlos located and treated the trigger points on my first visit and the pain was gone. I was shocked. After all those years of periodic bouts of severe pain, the pain was actually gone! I went back for treatment once a week for a couple of months to make sure the trigger points were under control. Carlos taught me how to work on the trigger points with my own hands and how to stretch properly. I wish circumstances would allow me to go to Carlos once every week. Carlos is a true healer to me.
I have benefitted from Carlos' massage, Rosen body work, and his Rosen movement class. I have been his client for nearly 3 years and I greatly appreciate his expertise. Even though he is now known as the Myo Pain Center of OC, he will forever be known to me a "Talking Hands Massage" for he is is able to identify areas which need energy to be moved . And whether is is through his massage, or through the Rosen body work, or through the Rosen movement class, I always feel terrific after his work.
The Best Hour of My Week
I have had a weekly appointment with Carlos for about 6 years and it is truly the best hour of my week. Carlos is exceptionally perceptive and intuitive and finds the pain spots before I have to tell him where they are. His method of pain management is amazing and soothing. I am seventy nine years old and thank God that Carlos is in my life.
